Cultural highlights: New thriller and fantasy comedy releases

Recent cultural highlights include the thriller 'Klamárky' by Jo Piazza and the adventure fantasy comedy 'Zabudnutý ostrov'.

'Klamárky' explores the tension between curated social media personas and reality. The story follows Lizzie, whose former friend Rebecca (known as Bex) has become a famous influencer. After a long separation, their reunion is marked by mystery and violence when Bex's husband, Gray, is found murdered on their ranch. The narrative examines themes of envy, secrets, and the gap between public image and private truth.

'Zabudnutý ostrov' follows two friends, Jo and Raisa, who discover a mysterious portal to the mythical island of Nakali. The island poses a unique threat by feeding on the characters' memories. Directed by Joel Crawford and Januel Mercado, the film focuses on the strength of friendship, a theme the creators noted was central to the production process.
