Cultural honors announced in Guadalajara and Morelia

The City Council of Guadalajara has announced the third edition of the Santiago Bernal Photography Trajectory Award. This biennial prize, which carries a 6,000 euro grant, honors individuals who have made significant contributions to the practice, promotion, and dissemination of photography on a national or international level. The award is named after Santiago Bernal Gutiérrez, a key figure in the development of photography in Guadalajara.

In Morelia, Mexico, the Secretariat of Culture (SeCultura) is hosting a photographic exhibition titled ‘Miguel Bernal Jiménez: A Life Dedicated to Music.’ The exhibition commemorates the 70th anniversary of the composer's passing and features 18 large-format panels documenting his life, from his studies in Rome to his role in establishing institutions like the Conservatorio de las Rosas. The display is open to the public at the Plaza Centenaria of the Boulevard García de León Linear Park until November 6.
