Cultural initiatives address gender violence and online safety
Various cultural initiatives are addressing gender violence and online safety through audiovisual and literary mediums.
At the 83rd Venice International Film Festival, Gianluca Mech will present ‘La Trappola di Venere’ at the Hotel Excelsior. The documentary project aims to investigate the roots of violent behavior by focusing on men and the cultural, social, and psychological models that precede abusive conduct. The project combines analytical perspectives from psychologists and legal experts with artistic representations of social stereotypes and relational dynamics.
In Torre Grande, a presentation of Ivan Bacchion’s novel, ‘Il viaggio – Le lacrime di Venere’, will address the dangers of online grooming and psychological and physical violence. The event includes the ‘Amico Fantasma’ social project, which seeks to provide support and awareness for women and youth facing stalking or online manipulation, highlighting the vulnerabilities present in social network interactions.
