Cultural institutions enhance accessibility and community programming

The Isaac Peral House Museum in Cartagena, Spain, has implemented comprehensive accessibility measures under the slogan ‘Isaac para todos’. The initiative, supported by the Cartagena City Council, aims to reduce barriers for visitors with visual, auditory, and cognitive disabilities, as well as those with reduced mobility.

Key features include haptic maps on every floor, audio guides with descriptions in Spanish and English, and sign language guides in both Spanish Sign Language (LSE) and the International Sign System (SSI). Additionally, audiovisual content includes subtitles to enhance inclusivity.

In Montería, Colombia, the Banco de la República Cultural Center has announced its October programming. The schedule focuses on community engagement, sustainability, and local artistic expressions. Activities include creative workshops, such as the ‘Hojitas que cantan’ workshop, and social gaming events designed to foster intergenerational connection and biocultural reflection.
