Cultural institutions in Poland secure funding and international partnerships

In Łomża, the city has signed an annex with the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage to continue the joint management of the Witold Lutosławski Chamber Philharmonic and the Puppet and Actor Theatre. This agreement extends the partnership for four years, until the end of 2030. Under the new terms, the Philharmonic will receive at least one million PLN annually starting in 2027, while the Puppet and Actor Theatre will receive a minimum subsidy of 734,000 PLN. The city also plans to increase its own financial support for both institutions.

Meanwhile, cultural representatives from Lublin visited Tilburg, Netherlands, to strengthen ties ahead of Lublin’s designation as the European Capital of Culture 2029. The discussions focused on the theme ‘Re:union,’ aiming to foster cross-border relations through joint productions, artist residencies, and festival collaborations. Potential projects include linking Eastern European circus festivals with Tilburg’s Circolo festival and exploring dance education partnerships through Fontys University of Applied Sciences.
