Cultural institutions offer free entry in Czechia and restored landmarks reopen in Trnava
State-run cultural institutions in the Czech Republic, including the National Gallery, the National Museum, and various regional open-air museums, are offering free admission to their permanent collections on the first Sunday of every month. This policy applies to all visitors regardless of age. Following a pilot program with rotating schedules, the Ministry of Culture has standardized the access to occur on the first Sunday of each month. Upcoming free dates for the remainder of the year include October 4, November 1, and December 6.
In Slovakia, the city of Trnava is reopening two restored historical landmarks, Pracháreň and Emmerova vila, to the public during the first weekend of October. The Pracháreň building, which received a 5 million euro investment, will house the Municipal Theatre Pracháreň and features original brickwork and medieval cellars. Emmerova vila, located in Ružový park, underwent a 3.5 million euro renovation. Both sites will offer guided tours to showcase their historical significance and recent restorations.
