Cultural landscape and heritage events announced in Italy

Various cultural and environmental events are scheduled in Italy to explore landscape and heritage through art and nature.

The ALT(R)O Festival Valmalenco 2026, themed ‘Memories of Landscape,’ will take place over three weekends. The festival aims to use art, music, photography, and poetry to interpret the historical and geological traces left on the territory. The first weekend focuses on nature and the relationships between humans, animals, and forests, featuring ornithological walks led by expert Enrico Bassi.

Additionally, the ‘Erratici’ heritage walk is set for August 30, 2026, at Prati del Sirente. Organized by Le Officine Ets in collaboration with Orsa Maggiore Trekking and Ambiente, and supported by the Sirente Velino Regional Park, the event explores glacial erratic boulders. The experience combines an environmental guide with a performance by artist Martina Riescher, using collective movement to relate the human body to geological processes.
