Cultural Leonesa announces 2026/27 season schedule and squad updates

Cultural y Deportiva Leonesa has released its schedule for the 2026/27 Primera Federación season. The team will compete in a 38-match campaign with the goal of returning to professional football. The season begins on August 30, 2026, with an away match against Barakaldo CF, followed by the home opener against AD Mérida on September 6.

A highly anticipated derby against SD Ponferradina is scheduled for November 8, 2026, in León. The return fixture will take place on March 21, 2027, at El Toralín. The club has designated the home derby as one of its official ‘club days’ for the campaign.

Following their relegation from the Segunda División, the club has undergone significant squad changes. Only four players from the previous season remain with Cultural. Other former players have moved to various levels of Spanish football, including Roger Hinojo at RCD Espanyol and Matía Baržić at Elche CF in the Primera División, while Thiago Ojeda and Luis Chacón have joined Real Valladolid in the Segunda División.
