Cultural milestones and major investments announced across France

Various cultural and entertainment milestones are being celebrated across France. In Pouxeux, an event on September 27, 2026, will commemorate the 60th anniversary of the cult film ‘Les Grandes Gueules’. The program includes a documentary, archive footage, and a debate featuring director Jean-Pascal Voirin and publisher Olivier Bertot.

In May-sur-Èvre, the theater troupe Espace del Mayor is preparing an ambitious adaptation of Jules Verne’s ‘Around the World in 80 Days’ to mark its 50th anniversary in 2027. The production, directed by Serge Louot, will feature 17 actors and include a retrospective exhibition. Proceeds from the opening weekend will benefit the association Leucémie Espoir 49.

Additionally, the Futuroscope theme park is preparing for its 40th anniversary in 2027. Despite a slight dip in attendance in 2026 due to heatwaves and reduced purchasing power, the park reported a turnover of 160 million euros. As part of its ‘Vision 2025’ plan, the park is investing 80 million euros in a new 245-room hotel scheduled to open in late 2027, alongside plans for a new major attraction in 2028.
