Cultural milestones marked in Belluno and Gibellina
The Circolo Cultura e Stampa Bellunese is celebrating its 50th anniversary. Founded in 1976 by Luigino Boito and a group of local professionals, the organization was established to provide a space for cultural growth in the Belluno province. Over five decades, the Circolo has hosted 600 shows with 300,000 attendees, including educational programs that have reached 75,000 students across Belluno, Feltre, Ponte nelle Alpi, and Alpago. A special celebration is scheduled for October 24 at the Teatro Dino Buzzati.
In Gibellina, artist Lucia Veronesi is developing the project ‘Qui prima non c’era il nulla’ as part of the city's candidacy to become the Italian Capital of Contemporary Art in 2026. Curated by Cristina Costanzo, the project explores the relationship between public space, nature, and the community. The installation includes a 400-square-meter Mediterranean garden featuring mulberry, carob, and almond trees, alongside textile works and stone inscriptions.
