Cultural music and opera events scheduled across Italy

Various musical and operatic events are scheduled across Italy. At the Reggia di Capodimonte, the Ensemble Mercadante, directed by Benedikt Sauer, presents the “Note d’autunno” series from October 10 to 31, featuring a repertoire spanning the 17th and 18th centuries.

In Portici, the “Dissonanzen – Le vie della musica” project will hold three events at the Reggia di Portici between October 17 and November 21, 2026. This initiative, a collaboration with MUSA and the University of Naples Federico II, focuses on musical experimentation and the fusion of diverse traditions, such as the Pentakte project which combines Japanese sho, Arabic oud, European flugelhorn, and Indian tablas.

Other notable programming includes the Teatro Pergolesi in Jesi, which is launching its 59th traditional lyric season with thirteen appointments through December. The Teatro Regio in Turin is preparing for its Verismo Festival with a tetralogy including “Cavalleria rusticana,” “Pagliacci,” “Bohème,” and “Iris.” Additionally, the Rina Sala Gallo International Piano Competition is set to take place in Monza from October 4 to 10, 2026.
