Cultural musical events held in Thessaloniki and Rhodes
Cultural events are taking place across Greece, highlighting the connection between music and regional identity. In Thessaloniki, the “Efychite” musical performance is set for December 2, 2026, at Warehouse C of the Port. Organized by the Association of Friends of the Historical Center of Thessaloniki in collaboration with the Municipality of Thessaloniki, the show celebrates the history of the Thessaloniki Song Festival. The event features artistic direction by Alexandros Giovanni and performances by Sofia Yfaniti, accompanied by a live orchestra. Notable past festival participants, including Eleni Dimou, Giorgos Polychroniadis, and Despoina Glezu, are scheduled to perform songs that marked different eras of the institution.
In Rhodes, the musical performance “Tyhero Asteri” was held at the Town Hall Square to commemorate World Tourism Day. Featuring singer Thodoris Voutsikakis and artistic direction by Lina Nikolakopoulou, the event aimed to showcase the island's cultural identity alongside its status as a tourist destination. Organized by the Municipality of Rhodes' Tourism Directorate, the evening brought together residents and visitors to celebrate the relationship between local culture and tourism.
