Cultural performances highlight memory and family in Mexico and Spain

In Mexico, the Espejo de Hueso theater company presented 'Mi Perro Cono' as part of the Festival Revueltas 2026. The production, which held shows in Durango capital and Nuevo Ideal, follows a character named Hugo as he revisits his childhood home. The play explores themes of family bonds, childhood memories, and the impact of pets through a mix of humor and nostalgia.

In Spain, the production 'Los huesos' will be staged at the Teatro María Guerrero in Madrid from October 15 to 18. Directed by Manuela Infante, the play uses music to explore the historical memory of forced disappearances. Based on conversations with forensic anthropologist R. L., the work seeks to interpret the data found in human remains through a musical lens rather than a purely scientific one, addressing the silence left by state violence.
