Cultural performances in Argentina explore resilience and leadership

In Córdoba, the independent collective Danzando ando will present “Despertar” on November 5 at the Sindicato de Maravillas. Directed by María Laura Cisneros, with choreography by Fernanda Farán and Rocío Florencia, the production combines folk and contemporary dance with live music. The performance explores themes of human resilience and diversity, specifically focusing on a narrative of rebirth where a wheelchair is integrated as an extension of the body to overcome adversity.

In a separate theatrical production, director María Luján Zalazar is presenting “Francisco, el musical del fin del mundo.” This original musical theater piece uses the autobiography of Jorge Bergoglio to trace his life alongside significant historical events in Argentina and the world. The production aims to move beyond mere entertainment, utilizing text, music, and dance to explore the human and collective dimensions of Bergoglio’s service and identity.
