Manaus hosts expanded cultural festival amid regional community events
Various cultural and community events are taking place across Brazil and Portugal. In Manaus, the ‘#SouManaus Passo a Paço 2026’ festival will run from September 4 to 13 in the Historic Center, featuring over 150 musical acts including Ana Castela, IZA, and Gloria Groove. The festival has expanded to ten days while reducing municipal costs by R$ 10 million through private sponsorships, with savings redirected to drought relief efforts in Amazonas.
Other regional activities include the ‘Todos São Palco’ theater showcase in Portugal, which brings Amazonian performances to 13 cities, and the ‘Navegar Experience’ in Caraguatatuba, offering free nautical sports. Community-focused initiatives include health and leisure projects in Álvares Machado, religious celebrations in Canaã dos Carajás, and the ‘Circuito Mais Mulher’ sports event in Araraquara. Additionally, the Espaço Arlindo Cruz in Rio de Janeiro is reopening with new samba performances.
