Cultural programs scheduled for Book Week in Hamedan Province
Various cultural activities are being organized across Hamedan Province, Iran, to celebrate Book Week. In Borujerd, officials have planned more than 10 programs, including book exhibitions at the Dr. Zarrinkoub Cultural and Artistic Complex, reading competitions, and the establishment of reading stations in hospitals.
The celebrations will also include the unveiling of two books, ‘Travelers to Heaven’ and ‘A Battalion of Angels,’ written by veteran Kaveh Goudarzi, which focus on the culture of sacrifice and martyrdom. Other initiatives include equipping libraries and honoring local cultural activists.
In broader provincial developments, the Deputy for Culture and Media of the Hamedan Department of Culture and Islamic Guidance reported that approximately 70 percent of planned programs for the first half of the year have been implemented. These efforts aim to promote cultural justice by covering small towns and villages. Challenges such as budget shortages remain a significant hurdle for executing cultural initiatives.
