Cultural projects celebrate Afro-Brazilian traditions in Salvador
New cultural initiatives in Salvador, Bahia, are highlighting Afro-Brazilian roots through music and performance. The Africanize platform has launched Samba dos Búzios, a project held in the Pelourinho district. The initiative aims to become a monthly event, combining samba circles, gastronomy, and capoeira to honor ancestral traditions.
Additionally, singer and composer Ayrá will perform her original show, AYRÁ, at the Teatro Sesi Rio Vermelho on November 15. The free performance will be recorded live and features compositions centered on Black identity, spirituality, and female strength. The show integrates audiovisual projections and music to explore themes of ancestrality and belonging.
