Cultural sectors in Switzerland and Austria focus on tourism and sustainability

In Switzerland, the KulturTräff event held at Zeughaus Kultur in Brig focused on the theme ‘Culture as a Strength of the Destination’. Approximately 90 representatives from the cultural, tourism, and economic sectors discussed methods to increase the visibility of Valais’s cultural offerings to external audiences and strengthen cooperation between culture and tourism.

In Austria, cultural institutions in Tyrol are implementing sustainability measures to address the climate crisis. The Kulturlabor Stromboli in Hall in Tirol has been a Climate Alliance member since 2020, implementing initiatives such as renewable energy use and recycling. The organization aims to use its high volume of annual events to raise social and political awareness regarding climate change. Additionally, the MuKu St. Johann association is integrating sustainability into artistic programming through exhibitions, films, and workshops.
