Cultural tributes and heritage projects underway in Spain

Various cultural initiatives and tributes are taking place across Spain. In Seville, the Ateneo de Triana presented the ‘Pro Monumento a Marifé de Triana’ project at the Fundación Caja Rural del Sur. This initiative aims to create a permanent monument to the renowned Spanish copla singer Marifé de Triana, with a budget of 18,000 euros covering the sculpture, pedestal, and installation.

In Alcázar de San Juan, the Iglesia de Santa María is preparing for an audiovisual videomapping spectacle to commemorate its eighth centenary. The event, scheduled for October 17, will use advanced technology to project the historical legacy of the temple onto its facade. Additionally, the municipality honored the late writer and poet Santiago Ramos Plaza by naming the reading room of the Municipal Library after him during an event held on what would have been his 82nd birthday.
