Cultural updates in Catalonia: New novel and musical anthology
In Catalonia, new cultural projects are highlighting regional history and theatrical heritage. Author Martí Gironell is presenting his novel, ‘Malaveïna’, which explores the relationship between nature, health, and social tensions in the 19th century. The story draws on legends from Garriguella and the history of the Peralada gardens, focusing on the legacy of ‘remeieres’—women who used medicinal plants and herbs to heal communities.
In the performing arts, Joan Lluís Bozzo is launching ‘Les veles s'inflaran’, a musical spectacle by Enraona Teatre. The production serves as an anthology of the iconic Dagoll Dagom musical company, revisiting characters and moments from famous titles such as ‘Flor de nit’ and ‘Mar i Cel’. The show, which features approximately thirty artists, is scheduled to premiere at the Teatre El Progrés in Martorell on November 15, with plans for a tour across Catalonia.
