Cultural updates in Croatia: New theatre and literature

Cultural events in Croatia include a new theatrical production and a literary release. The Kaštela Children's Theatre 'Škatula' will perform 'The Strange Adventures of Apprentice Hlapić' at the Apfel Arena in Makarska on October 10. Based on the novel by Ivana Brlić-Mažuranić, the play follows the adventures of a young apprentice and his dog, Bundaš.

Additionally, author Anja Šovagović Despot has introduced her new book, 'Ja, barunica Castelli', at Matica hrvatska. The novel offers a reinterpretation of the character Baroness Castelli from Miroslav Krleža's 'The Glembays', providing the character with her own perspective and voice to address previous literary interpretations.
