Cultural workshops announced in Croatia
Various educational programs focusing on contemporary dance and vocal heritage are being organized in Croatia.
The Mediterranean Dance Center in Svetvincent will host the MPC Classroom 2026 on October 18. Led by Martina Tomić and Martina Nevistić Vukobrat, this free program is designed for educators to integrate contemporary dance into work with children and youth. The workshops will explore the relationship between movement and words, as well as the connection between the body and film imagery.
In Zadar, the association ‘Kamene babe’ is conducting a series of workshops titled ‘Intangible Vocal Heritage: From Research to Performance’ through the end of 2026. The cycle includes an experimental performance workshop with Sara Renar on October 18, a session on Istrian musical traditions with Goran Farkaš and Myriam De Bonte on November 7, and a workshop on performance and presence with Ane Paška on December 19. These sessions aim to revive musical heritage by blending traditional vocal techniques with contemporary practices.
