Cultural workshops announced in Portugal regarding healthcare activism and art curation

The CARE project, an artistic activism initiative investigating reproductive healthcare access in Portugal, is hosting a workshop on October 3, 2026, at the University of Minho. The workshop focuses on five key areas: abortion, contraception, obstetric violence, menopause, and endometriosis. Participants will work in small groups guided by artists to discuss and creatively document their experiences, which will eventually contribute to a graphic novel scheduled for publication in July 2027.

Separately, the Academia Cultura e Criatividade, an initiative by Pporto.pt and Verde Novo, is offering an online training course titled ‘Participatory Curatorship’ on October 6 and 9. Led by instructor José Rosinhas, the course aims to teach the theoretical and practical stages of contemporary art exhibition curation, including conception, production, and community-based collaborative projects.
