Culture Days returns to British Columbia with focus on rural communities
The 17th annual Culture Days is set to take place across British Columbia from September 18 to October 4. The event features hundreds of free and pay-what-you-may activities, with a specific emphasis on connecting with rural and remote communities that may lack access to urban arts facilities.
In the Cowichan Valley, programming includes events in Ladysmith, Chemainus, Cowichan Bay, and Duncan. In Ladysmith, the Ladysmith Gallery will host 'Lines of Inquiry,' featuring abstract expressionist painting demonstrations by artist Ellen Brandson. Additionally, the Arts & Heritage Hub will hold a 'Draw, Paint, Write: Self Portraits' workshop on September 20.
The official launch event for the program is scheduled for September 20 at Hawthorne Grove Park in Delta.
