Culture Night 2026 to host free arts events in Sligo and Galway

Culture Night 2026 is scheduled for Friday, 18 September, featuring free arts and cultural programming across various locations in Ireland, including Sligo and Galway.

In Sligo, the event is coordinated by the Sligo County Council’s Arts Service. Highlights include the ‘Culture Blast’ at The Model, featuring performances by the Crash Ensemble alongside the Sligo Integration Chorus and Sligo Ukrainian Choir. Other scheduled activities include Baroque music at Hawk’s Well Theatre, literary programs at the Yeats Society, and 27 confirmed events spanning urban and rural areas.

In Galway, the initiative is managed by the Galway City Arts Office as part of a national celebration. The city will host diverse events ranging from music and visual arts to heritage and community-led performances. Notable programming includes works-in-progress at An Taibhdhearc, the National Irish Language Theatre, showcasing new stories and spoken-word pieces.
