Cumberland Council announces roadworks and diversions

Cumberland Council has issued notices regarding upcoming roadworks and traffic disruptions in the region.

Fibrus Networks Limited is scheduled to perform works from November 10 to November 11, 2026, on the road from the C2054 to Gilgarran Road in Distington. The works are expected to cause very long delays and road blockages.

Additionally, a diversion route will be in place from October 23 to November 13, 2026, due to council-led roadworks. The affected area includes the road leading from the junction east of Uppertown to Boltonfellend, specifically near Kirklinton Hall and Hallfoot Mill.
