Cumbucca Gastronomy Award expands across Minas Gerais

The fourth edition of the Cumbucca Gastronomy Award is expanding its scope beyond Belo Horizonte to include the interior of Minas Gerais. The award now features nominees from 175 different cities and localities, aiming to map and celebrate the state's diverse culinary landscape, including producers of cheese, beer, cachaça, coffee, wine, and more.

In the city of Juiz de Fora, eight establishments have been nominated across various categories, including bars, restaurants, and beer producers. The expanded competition includes 55 categories designed to link the gastronomic sector to regional economic development and tourism.

Public voting for the award remains open until October 16 via the official Cumbucca website. Creator Marcelo Wanderley noted that the continuous research into small towns and local producers helps build a more comprehensive map of the state's culinary heritage.
