Cumhur Uzun questions status of Yatağan school and dormitory project
YENİ Party Muğla Deputy Cumhur Uzun has brought the status of a delayed educational project in Yatağan to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM). The project, which involves the construction of a 16-classroom Anatolian High School and a 100-person student dormitory, was originally announced in September 2022.
Under a protocol signed with Yatağan Termik Enerji Üretim AŞ, the energy company committed to completing the school and dormitory complex within two years. However, more than four years have passed since the initial announcement, and the project remains unfinished.
Uzun submitted a written parliamentary inquiry containing 12 questions for Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin. The inquiry seeks clarification on whether the commitments were met, the reasons for the delays, and the Ministry's oversight activities regarding the protocol. Uzun emphasized that educational investments should not be left to the discretion of companies or subject to uncertainty by public institutions.
