Cummins celebrates 40 years of Brazil Technical Center
Cummins is celebrating 40 years of its Brazil Technical Center (BTC) in Guarulhos, São Paulo. Originally established in 1986 for engine validation, the facility has evolved into a global strategic engineering hub. The center now handles the development, homologation, and certification of technologies for road, off-road, power generation, and industrial applications, adhering to international standards such as US EPA and CARB.
In addition to its technical milestones, Cummins is highlighting its role in urban mobility through a partnership with Marcopolo/Volare. The collaboration resulted in the Volare Fly 12, a micro-bus featuring the Cummins F4.5 engine. The Fly 12 is positioned as the highest-capacity micro-bus in Brazil, capable of carrying up to 47 passengers in charter versions or 64 students in school configurations, utilizing a 213 cv engine designed for efficiency and performance in heavy traffic.
