Cummins Inc. sees growth from AI data center power demand

Cummins Inc. is seeing increased relevance due to the massive expansion of artificial intelligence infrastructure. As hyperscalers prepare to spend an estimated $750 billion on AI infrastructure by 2026, the demand for reliable electricity to power giant data centers is straining existing power grids.

Cummins is addressing this need by providing backup and prime power through its engine technology. The company’s power systems division reported a 19% year-over-year revenue increase in the second quarter of 2026, significantly outperforming its engine business, which grew by 6%.

In related financial news, several institutional investors have recently adjusted their positions in Cummins. Van Hulzen Asset Management LLC acquired a new position of 3,071 shares valued at approximately $2.19 million during the second quarter. Other firms, including Activest Wealth Management and Cedar Mountain Advisors LLC, have also increased their holdings.
