Cummins posts record Q2 2026 earnings and lifts full-year outlook

Cummins Inc. reported record second‑quarter 2026 results, with revenue rising 9% year over year to $9.5 billion and EBITDA reaching $1.7 billion. Net income was $932 million, or $6.73 per diluted share. Power Systems revenue jumped 19% to a record $2.3 billion, driven by strong demand for backup generators in data centers across the United States, China and Southeast Asia.

Chief Executive Jennifer Rumsey said the company benefited from higher global power‑generation demand, a recovering North American truck market and robust construction activity in China. Cummins raised its full‑year revenue guidance to 10%–13% growth (up from 8%–11%) and lifted the midpoint of its EBITDA‑margin outlook to 18%–18.5%. The firm also announced a multiyear agreement with a global hyperscaler and a partnership with Circe Energy to supply natural‑gas generator sets and micro‑grid solutions for a Texas data center, while expanding production capacity with a new 130‑liter natural‑gas platform. CFO Mark Smith noted capacity constraints could limit growth of larger generator‑set configurations through 2028.
