Cundinamarca implements electronic tax control in 50 municipalities
The Cundinamarca Departmental Treasury has completed the ‘Electronic Control and Collection of Gasoline and Diesel Surcharge’ project, implementing technological tools across 50 municipalities to improve tax administration and oversight.
Part of the Departmental Development Plan, the initiative began in 2024 with a pilot program in five municipalities. Following successful results, a second phase launched in 2025, extending the program to an additional 45 towns. The project provides local teams with specialized training, technical assistance, and access to a digital platform featuring real-time dashboards for monitoring collection data and service station inventories.
The strategy aims to strengthen fiscal management and auditing processes at service stations to ensure more effective oversight of gasoline and diesel surcharges.
