Cuneo inaugurates Esseci cultural hub in former Palazzo Santa Croce
The city of Cuneo has inaugurated Esseci, a new cultural hub located within the former Palazzo Santa Croce. The project, which cost over 20 million euros funded by PNRR and municipal resources, involved nearly 1,000 days of construction to transform the former hospital site into a major public service building.
The facility spans nearly 4,000 square meters and houses a new civic library containing over 350,000 volumes across 12 kilometers of shelving. Beyond the library, the center includes study and reading rooms, exhibition spaces for shows, an auditorium for conferences, and Sclab, a cultural center dedicated to youth.
Italian President Sergio Mattarella praised the opening, describing the space as an area for the exchange of ideas and cultural enrichment for current and future generations.
