Cupra expands Formentor range in Australia
Cupra has expanded its Formentor range in Australia, introducing five different powertrain options. The lineup begins with a new 2026 mild-hybrid ‘S’ variant, priced at $53,990 drive-away nationally, featuring a 1.5-litre engine producing 110kW.
Existing models include the V, VZe plug-in hybrid (PHEV), and VZx. The V variant’s price has increased by $5,500, while the VZx has risen by $4,200. The VZe PHEV features second-generation technology with a 200kW maximum power output and a claimed electric-only driving range of 114km under WLTP testing.
A high-performance five-cylinder VZ5 flagship, utilizing an engine from the Audi RS3, is expected to arrive in late 2026 or early 2027. Global production for this model is limited to 4,000 units, with fewer than 100 allocated to the Australian market.
