Cupra Formentor VZ5 limited-edition SUV unveiled with 390 hp

Cupra has introduced the Formentor VZ5, a special‑edition version of its sport‑oriented SUV limited to 4,000 units worldwide and priced at €69,000. The model is powered by a 2.5 L TSI five‑cylinder engine delivering 390 hp (480 Nm) and paired with a seven‑speed DSG automatic and all‑wheel drive, enabling a 0‑100 km/h sprint in 4.2 seconds and a top speed of 280 km/h.

The VZ5 trim adds aggressive styling – black grille, dedicated front and rear bumpers, a VZ5‑branded splitter, 20‑inch wheels and six‑piston Akebono brakes – plus Matrix LED HD headlights that project the Cupra logo. Inside, a driver‑focused cabin features a lowered seating position, adaptive ambient lighting, a 10.25‑inch digital instrument cluster, and a 12.9‑inch infotainment screen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The car offers multiple driving modes, including a Drift mode that manages torque distribution for a more dynamic rear‑wheel feel. The vehicle was test‑driven by journalist Giovanni Mancini, who highlighted its performance and technology.
