Cupra unveils high-performance Formentor VZ5 and desert-ready Terramar

Cupra is expanding its high-performance lineup with the introduction of the Formentor VZ5 and a specialized desert-ready version of the Terramar.

The Formentor VZ5 is a limited edition model restricted to 4,000 units, produced at the Martorell plant near Barcelona. It features a 2.480 cc 5-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine producing 390 CV and 480 Nm of torque. The vehicle utilizes a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission and 4Drive all-wheel drive, capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 4 seconds.

Additionally, the brand has developed the Terramar ‘Desert’ version, specifically prepared for the ‘Classic África 2026’ rally. Based on the 265 CV VZ 2.0 TSI DSG 4Drive model, this adaptation includes reinforced suspensions with increased ground clearance, off-road wheels and tires, underbody protection, and enhanced cooling systems for high-temperature environments. Safety modifications for the desert terrain include a roll bar, bucket seats, four-point harnesses, and a fire extinguisher.
