Curaçao wins Little League World Series title by defeating Nevada
Curaçao’s Pariba Little League captured its second Little League World Series title with an 11-2 victory over Nevada’s Paseo Verde Little League on Sunday in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania. The win marks the island nation’s first championship since 2004.
Juriënsly De Windt and Shardijon De Lanoi led the offensive effort, combining for six RBIs. De Windt started the game on the mound, allowing two runs over three innings, while relief pitchers Giendry Ryan and Steven Felix secured the final three innings with four strikeouts.
Despite an early 2-0 lead by Nevada, fueled by a two-run single from Maddox Bryan, Curaçao responded with a series of scoring plays. Jaymiëll Martina hit a two-RBI double in the fourth, and De Windt cleared the bases with a massive hit in the fifth to extend the lead.
Nevada, representing the Mountain Region, finished as the runner-up for the second consecutive year. The tournament also featured historic moments for female players, including Carsynn Meyer of Nevada, who became one of the few girls to compete in the LLWS championship game.
