Curia invests $28 million in sterile API manufacturing in Spain

Curia Global, Inc. has announced a $28 million strategic investment to expand its sterile active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) manufacturing capabilities in Valladolid, Spain. The expansion, which focuses on both steroid and non-steroid products, is scheduled for completion by the fourth quarter of 2028.

The project aims to enhance support for complex sterile formulations and injectable suspensions through the use of closed systems with barrier isolators. These technologies are intended to minimize operator interaction and reduce contamination risks. The upgraded facility will offer manufacturing flexibility ranging from gram-scale to metric tons, alongside customizable aseptic packaging configurations.

This investment follows a recent $4 million upgrade to the site’s API aseptic suites completed in May, further integrating the facility’s research, development, and manufacturing services.
