Curitiba and Criciúma implement new traffic patterns

In Curitiba, Brazil, several streets have been reconfigured starting Thursday, June 18. Two school‑adjacent streets in the Campo de Santana neighborhood now operate as one‑way routes to improve safety around local schools. In the Tatuquara district, partial road blockages on three streets have been imposed for pavement drainage works, with the disruptions expected to continue until early August. Drivers are advised to follow posted signs and anticipate slower traffic during weekday hours.

In Criciúma, also in Brazil, state officials opened a new 2.6‑km segment of the Anel de Contorno Viário, a ring road that redirects heavy traffic away from the city center. The project, years in the making, also includes the release of a 6.7‑km stretch of the duplicated SC‑108 highway, enhancing regional connectivity and easing freight movement. Officials say the upgrades will improve mobility for local businesses and reduce congestion on existing routes.
