Curitiba and Imperatriz present 2027 municipal budget proposals

Municipalities in Brazil are presenting their proposed Annual Budget Laws (LOA) for 2027.

In Curitiba, the city government projects record gross revenues and expenses of R$ 16.6 billion for 2027. Details regarding the proposal will be discussed in an online hearing hosted by the Department of Budget of the Municipal Secretariat of Planning, Finance, and Budget. The final proposal is expected to be delivered to the Curitiba City Council by September 30.

In Imperatriz, the proposed budget for 2027 is estimated at R$ 1.622 billion, maintaining the same level as the 2026 projection. The proposal allocates approximately 62% of these resources to the Education and Health sectors. The plan also includes funding for urbanism, sanitation, and transportation. The proposal will now move to the City Council for discussion, potential amendments, and voting.
