Curitiba begins demolition for Fábrica de Ideias innovation hub

Demolition has begun at the site of a former Ambev factory in the Rebouças neighborhood of Curitiba to make way for the ‘Fábrica de Ideias’ (Factory of Ideas). This project, initiated by the Government of Paraná, aims to create a major innovation, technology, and creative economy complex.

The development involves an investment exceeding R$ 296.5 million. The project will span a total area of approximately 34,000 m², with roughly 62,000 m² of built area. The scope includes demolition, infrastructure implementation, landscaping, and the retrofit and expansion of existing buildings. The works are being carried out by the Consórcio Inova Paraná, following a tender by the Paraná State Secretariat of Cities.

Governor Carlos Massa Ratinho Junior stated that the site was chosen to help revitalize the Rebouças district. The center is intended to host technology companies, research institutions, and government offices, serving various sectors such as agribusiness, automotive, sports, and health. The complex will also include cultural spaces, such as annexes for the Museum of Image and Sound, the Museum of Communication, and the Museum of Contemporary Art.
