Curitiba braces for sudden weekend cold front as temperatures plunge

An extratropical cyclone moving toward southern Brazil will bring a sharp drop in temperatures to Curitiba and much of Paraná over the weekend. Forecasts show Friday highs around 20 °C with lows near 11 °C, Saturday falling to a high of 12 °C and a low near 10 °C, and Sunday climbing slightly to a high of 18 °C but remaining at about 10 °C at night. The system is also expected to bring scattered clouds and light rain across the state.

For the World Cup round‑of‑16 match between Brazil and Norway on Sunday, the weather model predicts partly sunny conditions around the 17:00 kickoff, with temperatures near 16 °C that will gradually drop to about 12 °C by the end of the game.
