Curitiba City Hall to pay R$ 10.5 million to retirees

The Curitiba City Hall will issue a single lump-sum payment of R$ 10.5 million to retirees on October 26. This payment covers the 'licença-prêmio' (premium leave) for those who requested to receive the benefit in cash by December 2025.

The total expenditure for this cycle is estimated at R$ 13.475 million. This includes R$ 10.5 million for 211 retired civil servants, as well as payments for 58 exonerated employees and 43 estates of deceased servants who were entitled to the three-month paid leave but did not use it prior to their departure.

According to the Secretariat of Personnel Management (SMGP), this benefit is a legal right for statutory civil servants who joined the Curitiba administration before 2018. Requests made from January 2026 onwards will only be eligible for payment starting in 2027. Requests must be submitted within five years of the retirement date.
