Official data from the Secretariat of Public Security of Paraná (SESP-PR) indicates a decrease in certain crime rates in Curitiba during 2025. Between January and September 2025, the capital recorded 118 intentional homicides, representing a 5.60% decrease compared to the 125 cases reported during the same period in 2024.

Additionally, vehicle thefts in Curitiba saw a significant decline of 41.5% during the same period in 2025.
