Curitiba firefighters battle large residential fire

Firefighters in Curitiba are battling a large-scale residential fire in the Boqueirão neighborhood. The blaze, which began on a Wednesday afternoon, has been complicated by the presence of large amounts of flammable materials, including recyclables, wood, and various household objects, which have hindered access to the fire's core.

The residence's roof has collapsed, making it difficult for crews to reach burning materials underneath. Authorities have requested a backhoe to assist in clearing debris. A 71-year-old resident, who reportedly lived alone and exhibited hoarding behavior, has not yet been located. Emergency teams are continuing search efforts within the structure as they work to contain the flames.
