Curitiba hosts 10th edition of Carne de Onça gastronomic festival

Curitiba is hosting the 10th edition of the Carne de Onça Festival, celebrating a dish recognized as an intangible cultural heritage of both the municipality and the state of Paraná. Organized by the Curitiba Honesta platform, the event features 24 participating establishments offering the traditional snack at a fixed price of R$ 29 until October 4.

The dish, which consists of freshly minced lean beef served over rye bread and seasoned with onion, chives, salt, pepper, and olive oil, has been a staple of the city's nightlife since the 1930s and 1940s. It also holds a Geographical Indication (IG) seal from the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI).
