Curitiba International Biennial features 300 artists from 38 countries

The Curitiba International Biennial has returned to an in-person format, featuring works from over 300 artists representing 38 countries. The event is hosted at the Oscar Niemeyer Museum and various other cultural sites, including the Photography Museum and the Paranaense Museum.

This edition, themed ‘Limiares’ (Thresholds), explores the fluid boundaries between the human and the technological, as well as the relationships between art, science, technology, and ecology. The exhibition includes a diverse range of media, such as paintings, installations, performances, artificial intelligence, video art, photography, sound art, and augmented reality experiences.

In addition to the main hubs in Curitiba, the biennial is circulating through more than 30 cities across the state. Curator Tereza de Arruda noted that the return to physical exhibitions has seen significant engagement, with some days attracting up to 4,000 visitors.
