Curitiba launches 2026 Christmas celebrations with capybara sled and Disney show

Mayor Eduardo Pimentel inaugurated a promotional activation for Curitiba's 2026 Christmas season on Rua XV de Novembro, installing a replica sled pulled by capybaras in place of traditional reindeer. The interactive display invites residents and tourists to take photos and share the holiday spirit.

The city’s programme also confirms the return of "Disney Celebra: An Unforgettable Christmas" at Parque Barigui in December. Following a successful 2025 edition that attracted over one million visitors and generated more than R$ 722 million for the local economy, the Disney-backed spectacle will feature new live performances, Disney+ Open Air screenings and free festive installations. Organised with support from the federal culture incentive law, Disney Brazil, and AirPromo, the event aims to reinforce Curitiba's status as a national hub for holiday tourism.
