Curitiba man to face trial for attempted feminicide of hotel worker

A man accused of brutally attacking a hotel receptionist in Curitiba will face trial by a jury. The incident occurred on March 7, 2026, when an intoxicated guest allegedly followed the employee to a bathroom and attempted to assault her.

The victim sustained serious injuries, including facial wounds and fractures to her hand and forearm, after being struck with punches, kicks, and sharp objects. The prosecution has charged the suspect with attempted feminicide, attempted rape, and procedural fraud, as he allegedly attempted to disable security camera recordings following the attack.

The suspect was arrested in flagrante and remains in preventive detention.
