Curitiba named Brazil's first Pro-Life Capital

Curitiba has been recognized as the first ‘Capital Pró-Vida’ (Pro-Life Capital) of Brazil. The title was officially presented to Mayor Eduardo Pimentel during a ceremony at the Ópera de Arame.

The recognition highlights the city's commitment to promoting and protecting human life through various social initiatives. These include support for pregnant women, children, families, and individuals facing emotional distress or complex health situations. The movement was initiated following a proposal by the Casa Pró-Vida Mãe Imaculada at the Curitiba City Council.

The title honors the collaborative efforts of the municipal government, the Archdiocese of Curitiba, religious leaders, social organizations, and volunteers. Archbishop Dom José Antônio Peruzzo and other authorities attended the event, emphasizing that the recognition reflects a collective dedication to human dignity and the protection of vulnerable populations.
